My younger brother and I have decided to relocate to Kansas City to continue our progress towards higher education. As part of the move, John and I ventured up to KC to scout out apartments and while in the big city this past weekend we stayed with one of my closest, oldest friends in the world, Krista and her annoyingly lucky husband Brian Kutter. During dinner at her house that night over home made tacos with too much lettuce Krista confessed to me about her new Blogging habit. Immediately I made fun of her. As she explained this all to me, the only logical question on my mind due to the fact that I think i'm one of the most interesting and important people in the world was "I wonder how she will blog about me and my visit?"
Since she has a fair number of followers to her blog I'm sure you know how that question turned out. I wasn't blogged about at all. Nothing. And today she has the gall to cheerily send me a link inviting me to be a follower of her blog. So for your viewing pleasure this is how it went down. The following is the actual email conversation regarding this incident.

Dear Mrs. Kutter,
So.... I read your "blog". Notice I did not start of my email with my usual chipper "hey whats up homie" or "hows it hanging hotstuff" or any of my other charming quips that I know make your day whenever you are blessed enough to get the gift of an email from me. That is because after reading your "blog" I am deeply disappointed in you. While yes it was mildly amusing and full of nice and cute little married couple stories. ( I mean come on, even I want to do Brian after seeing him put the smack down on those bees) But I felt it was lacking something. Like maybe perhaps, any mention at all of me.
Not knowing what your "blog" was about I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt as I was perusing through your random anecdotes on life and love until that is I came across the, I think blurb is the correct term for the postings on a blog, detailing your lunch date with your long lost "best friends from out of town". Which happened to occur on the EXACT SAME DAY that I was in town. Staying at your house. Me. Let's keep it real K-dog, I'm a big deal. We are talking since the third grade big deal here.
All I was asking for was maybe a "and by the way how awesome was it to see my super awesome, always pick up right where we left of mega best friend Mark this weekend as well." But no. An entire article detailing how good the noodles were with Heather and Megan. I'm sure they are fabulous women with impeccable characters and unquestionable morals but come on. This is me. Not even a sentence. You cut me deep dude, real deep. So blurb about that. Proving that I'm a better friend than you are though, I still love you. Although now you carry the title of slightly less than best bestest friend. Anyhow, I hope you have an excellent weekend and now I am off to start my own blog which I will be omitting you from as well.
See you soon,
Mark W.
To which she replied almost immediately:
Mark, mark, mark. You never cease to amaze me. And I must say, your email was very thought out and very well put! Good laughs! You SHOULD start a blog!
How did I guess that something like this would happen?:) I really did think about something similar to this happening before I sent you the link. I knew you were going to get all offended that I didn't mention you coming into town. You're so sensitive!!
You know you are my "super awesome, always pick up right where we left off mega best friend". Don't be dumb, you know it and always have. However, you must understand that when I write my blog, I... 1) try to offer something you might not have heard of before, i.e. Lulu's. It's a small local restaurant that some may have never been to before. If I were to throw in a random antic about how I saw you that night, it would have been a cluster of a post. I'm sure my cousin would be mad that I didn't mention seeing him either. AND 2) I definitely tailor my life experiences to people I know that read it. i.e. the post I just did about my friends getting new degrees and masters! All of my girlfriends that are listed read it, but you should check it out too. Hhmmm...what do you know? YOUR name is there.
Don't you feel a little bad now for sending me that email? :) It was quite fitting though because you were probably writing your email as I was posting my blog post at the same time. I posted at 7:19 and you sent me the email at 7:25. It's ESP!!!
So, now that I know you do read it, I will definitely put you in it more!! Besides, you don't deserve a mention mixed in with another day, you deserve a whole post to yourself!
C-ya homie!!
Now I realize that with everything in this first "blurb" this is a much longer post than normal but I felt it necessary to adequately explain my desire to blog. I have now taken it upon myself to "out blog" Krista in every way possible. It also helps that I have to work tomorrow so i'm not going out tonight which frees me up to partake in this hobby which i'm not entirely sure is cool or not yet. Anyway.. since the only person I know on here is Krista Kutter, I hope that maybe some of her readers will also venture over to mine and become followers of me as well. Since all of them seem to be married with kids and dogs it could be interesting to have one blog posting the single, still mostly immature male point of view on life. I will try to post regularly about things one might blog about so we will see how this goes. It could be fun, it could be boring and it could more than likely turn out I'm the only one who will read this. But to all my future followers, until next time... keep waiting.
